About International Medical Corps (IMC)

The International Medical Corps (IMC) was founded in 1984 by Dr. Robert Simon, together with a group of American physicians and nurses.

International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization established by volunteer doctors and nurses. The organization is a global first responder during disasters and humanitarian crises, providing emergency medical relief, delivering healthcare to affected regions and training local healthcare workers with the goal of creating self-reliant, self-sustaining medical services and infrastructure in places where there had previously been lacking.

International Medical Corps focuses on health services support, including primary and secondary healthcare, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, supplemental food for malnourished children, clean water and hygiene education, mental health and psychosocial care, women’s and children’s health (including gender-based violence), and emergency response and preparedness. the Headquarters is located at  Los Angeles, California, United States CEO: Nancy A. Qualifications/Requirement for International Medical Corps (IMC) Job

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Health, Social Science, Social Works, or Food Security related discipline and at least two years of professional experience in cash assistance interventions
  • Experience in northeast Nigeria is an added advantage.

Required skills:

  • Experience in community mobilization and sensitization
  • Experience in food/ cash distributions and NFI distributions
  • Good computer skills especially Word and Excel, access. Knowledge of other databases preferred
  • Good human relations and diplomacy
  • Capacity to organize work
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Good command of English (reading, writing, speaking). Knowledge of Hausa and any local language is an added advantage
  • Capacity to work under stressful situations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and capacity to coordinate work across multiple departments
  • Experience living in remote or isolated work stations, or insecure locations
